In an effort to continue adequately responding to the growing threat of the Coronavirus, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) issued two executive orders today, calling for the re-employment of essential personnel and enacting public access restriction in Miami-Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County and Monroe County.
With the executive orders, the Florida Governor provides the opportunity for retired healthcare and law enforcement personnel to return to work, saying that “we need to have folks who are willing to come return to service.”
The Governor also announced that a stay-at-home order was to be enacted for South Florida. Although initially stating that it would be until May 15, the Governor later corrected himself by saying that he misspoke. Instead, South Floridians are to stay-at-home until April 15 in order to ensure that COVID-19 does not continue to spread in the sunshine state.
