Senator Marco Rubio (R) has poked the media bear President Trump likes to call the "Fake News" after tweeting in defense of the president's decision to reassign Col. Vindman and fired U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland.

Rubio insisted that Vindman "wasn't fired" because he was still in the U.S. Army. Because Sondland was a political appointee, Rubio said that there was "no point in having a political appointee wh no longer has the president's confidence.

CNN dedicated an entire segment on Rubio's tweet while promoting the banner that Trump "fired" both men when in reality, only Sondland was really fire.
