Rep. Frederica Wilson on Soleimani's Death: "Why Now?"

Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson (D) has been nothing short of baffled by the President’s actions since being elected into office.

As a supporter of the President being impeached and removed from office, and a critic of the President’s response to Iran since the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, the Floridian caught up with the sunshine state lawmaker to ask her about growing concerns over whether or not World War 3 is upon us.

When asked to share her thoughts regarding the rising tension between the United States and Iran, all Wilson could question was “why now?”

“If this gentleman has been such a problem for the United States, for the region, for the safety and security, why now?” Wilson asked.

She further inquired, “Why kill him now when you are in the midst of the fight for your presidency? You are an impeached president who has to go on trial in the Senate, and you pause to kill a terrorist? Why now?”

However, the Florida lawmaker assured that she thinks she knows the answer.

Wilson went on the explain that the answer lies in questioning “who would remove a sitting president when the country is at war? Or when the country is fighting for its security and safety?”

It seems that both countries have calmed down since the news of Iran directing rockets at U.S. bases in Iraq, but lawmakers are still wary, saying that they do not trust that Iran will not pursue things further.

The President has vowed to keep America safe, and he assured the people of the United States in his address that the country's safety and security is his number 1 concern.
