The gun-rights lobby has lost one of its biggest advocates as friends of “Mr. Second Amendment “ Bill Bunting have announced his death this weekend.

Bunting left a sizeable footprint in Florida politics, catapulting many of today’s most notable elected politicians to the positions they hold today.

Bunting was single-handily responsible for opening the gun lobby door for Sens. Marco Rubio and then-Gov. Rick Scott, not to mention former Attorney General Pam Bondy and current Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

Republican activists and donor Sam Rashid announced the news of Bunting’s passing on his Facebook post after speaking to Bill’s wife Ann.

Bill left a lasting impression on everyone he touched.

“You know I’m packing,” were the famous words he always whispered to let people know he was concealed carrying.

Bill is in a better place right now. We will miss you brother.
