Rep. Charlie Crist (D) is always in good spirits, especially when one of his bills gets passed in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Rep. Crist told The Floridian that he was “delighted” and “very excited about this robocall bill receiving significant bipartisan support when it passed in the House earlier this week.
“People are inundated with these things, I get them,” said Crist “A lot of them are scams and they target senior citizens. It’s awful. Hopefully, this will have a great impact, in slowing it down.”
Crist also said that he was “optimistic” that Republicans and Democrats would find middle ground on the budget by the end of the year and avoid a government shutdown.
“It doesn’t do anyone good to have a government shutdown,” said Crist.
And yes, we had to ask Crist about the impeachment inquiry hearing that took place this week.
When asked if the impeachment inquiry in the House Judiciary Committee was fair, Crist said, “ I do. I do think so.”
“It was appropriate this week that the judiciary gave the president the opportunity to come in if he wanted,” said Crist “It was his decision not to come, and that’s perfectly fine. Yeah, I think it was pretty fair.
As for his soon-to-be contentious reelection bid, Crist said that he wasn’t looking at any particular opponent, adding that it was “up to Republicans” to pick their nominee, adding that once they did, he would “look forward to a spirited race.
