President Donald Trump's decision to leave Northern Syria abandon Kurdish allies has been met with significant opposition from both Democrats and many of his key Republican surrogates and friends in the U.S. Congress.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R), who has just about supported Trump's entire foreign policy agenda, has taken issue with Trump's decision, saying that the move would put the Kurds in a compromised position, potentially facing "annihilation at the hands of the Turkish military."
"We degraded ISIS using Kurd’s as the ground force," tweeted Rubio "Now we have abandoned them & they face annihilation at the hands of the Turkish military ISIS could now be reinvigorated when 1000’s of jailed fighters break out when the Kurdish guards are forced to leave to go fight Turkey"
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) has also stated that Trump abandoned the Kurds.

If reports about US retreat in #Syria are accurate, the Trump administration has made a grave mistake that will have implications far beyond Syria.
