When he isn’t tweeting about how bad his beloved Miami Dolphins are playing, or tweeting Bible passages, Senator Marco Rubio (R) is calling out Venezuelan despots, Russia’s spying, and the Chinese governments will dominate the world economy, and beyond.
Rubio has honed in on the highly questionable and detrimental economic trade and business practices of Communist China during his most recent senate floor speech, saying that China’s “long-term plan is to supplant the United States of America as the world's dominant political, military, and economic power.”
“At this point, given all the information before us and the trends that have clearly emerged, ignorance on this matter is no longer an excuse,” said Rubio “And frankly the Communist Party of China is no longer hiding its ambition about what this is all about.”
Rubio continued by asking Americans to take in the recent remarks made by one of China’s former members of China’s central government, Huang Qifan.
“To Huang, as he makes clear, the trade war that is ongoing is a fight to the death, an inevitable outcome in a fight between two systems,” said Rubio “The United States, according to Huang in his speech, cannot have partners, cannot make space for others in the world. Rather we're stuck. We're stuck in a situation in which China must fight the United States, either economically or militarily to find its place in the world.”
“And understand the implications of this stated goal. China's aim is to use economic power to displace the United States of America and the role it has played in the world since the end of the second world war .”-Sen. Marco Rubio
Rubio continues, but says that these alarm bells are falling on deaf ears in many western countries, as well as in the “free world.”
“In very clear language he says ‘these are problems that capitalism can't avoid.’ That's his quote. But the Chinese system through central guidance, this is our institutional advantage, he argues. Embedded in his speech, there are two themes. The first is a confidence in the inevitability of China's rise and its conflict with the United States. But closely related to it is the second theme and that is an appeal to the rest of the world to follow in the Chinese authoritarian model, or as they call it, socialism with Chinese characteristics because in their telling, it is clearly a superior model to ours.
Rubio then addresses “the Communist Party of China” threat that their aim is to economically take over the world, quoting Qifan over his country’s ambitious remark,” Our currency will become the world currency.”
