Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, a veteran mechanic with American Airlines, who was arrested for sabotaging a flight from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas, could now be considered a terror suspect after federal officials say that they found Islamic-based “mass execution videos” on his cellphone, possibly an ISIS propaganda video on the phone, according to WSVN.
Alani allegedly told a coworker that his brother was a member of ISIS.
Because there is “some kind of terror tie,” Authorities are said to building their case against him “based on the electronics.”
"The new evidence presented by prosecutors includes that Alani has a brother in Iraq who may be involved with the Islamic State extremist group as well as statements Alani made about wishing harm on non-Muslims," posted WSVN
According to the Miami Herald, the criminal complaint states that Alani was bothered over the negotiations between the airline and its union.
Flight 2834 was scheduled to fly on July 17, but just as pilots powered up the aircraft’s engines, an error alarm alerted pilots, who then aborted the takeoff.
