Wasserman Schultz says Trump gave White Supremacists "permission" to kill

Never at a loss for words or afraid to express her opinion, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) did not hold back blaming President Donald Trump for creating the climate that she believes led to the recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, including giving "white supremacists" the permission go out and shoot people.

In a phone interview with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper, Wasserman Schultz was brutally outspoken, firmly placing the blame on Trump.

“After so many mass shootings, “something is seriously wrong. And it’s on your hands. It’s on your watch, and the blood is on your hands,” said Wasserman Schultz

Wasserman continued, saying that Trump has given “permission” to “white supremacists and hateful violent bigots to come out from the shadows and act on their hatred.”

“While mentioning white supremacy is an issue, and saying that we needed to go after white supremacy online, he also needs to take responsibility for the flames that he has fanned,” said Wasserman Schultz

The Sentinel also wrote that Wasserman Schultz took issue with Trump flubbing the city where the second shooting occurred. Trump first said Toledo, but the shooting happened in Dayton.

“Add the insult to injury was that this man doesn’t even care enough about the issue ... the guy couldn’t even get the city right.”

Wasserman Schultz says that “so many mass shootings” occurred on Trump’s watch, but in looking back at the history of “mass shootings,” more of these past shootings occurred under the Obama administration, including the Las Vegas Strip massacre, the worst massacre in U.S. History.

According to the New York Post, which dug into Dayton shooter Conner Betts social media accounts, Betts was not a “white supremacist,” rather a disturbed young man that supported Antifa, the presidential candidacies of Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, and even stated that he wanted “socialism.”

President Trump has called for background checks and “Red Flag” laws to be enacted, a move that gun rights groups are not in favor of, and have already expressed their distaste for the suggested measures.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has also called for “Red Flag” laws.
