Omar forgets she represents all Americans during Twitter spat

Share

In a Twitter spat with former Miss Iraq Sarah Idan, a defensive Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) forgot which Americans she represented in her response to the beauty queen’s opinion that the congresswoman did not represent her or “millions of Muslims in the Middle East.”

"Ilhan Omar does not represent me as a Muslim -- does not represent millions of Muslims in the Middle East," Idan told Fox News’ "The Sara Carter Show."

The answer is Omar represents all Americans.

Omar was not happy about the remark, and her response displayed her frustration, when she posted on Twitter that Idan did not live in her congressional district, therefore she did not represent her.

Idan did not say anything about formal congressional representation, rather the representation of her faith.

"Hey, I might be wrong but I don’t think you are a #MN05 resident and like that makes be not your representative," Omar tweeted alongside a shrug emoji.

Unfortunately for Omar, she forgets that she was elected to the U.S. Congress, the governing body for the 350 million Americans living in the U.S.

Meaning, just because Idan does not live in her congressional district, does not mean that Omar does not represent her.

Votes matter, all of them.

Whenever a vote is cast by any member of the U.S. Congress, it affects all Americans, and Omar knows this.

Idan responded with a not-so-subtle slight questioning the congresswoman’s intellect.

"Seriously @IlhanMN this is your intellectual come back?" she asked. "I said as a MUSLIM! I dont stand for your anti-American, anti-Semitic, Muslim Brotherhood agenda using this democracy to further YOUR & YOUR FRIENDS Islamic socialism goals of dividing & weakening our country."

This not the first, nor it will be the last somewhat offensive or offensive remark Rep. Omar has or will make while in office. Omar was recently rebuked by both Republicans and Democrats for making anti-Semitic remarks.
