Appearing the NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) announced that in addition to Russia, both China and Iran were actively trying to subvert U.S. elections.
“I was just in Europe talking to members of parliament in different countries there and they said the Russians are trying to do the same thing there, said Scott. “We have to understand that Russian, Iran, China, they are going to try to impact our elections, we’ve got to be very vigilant”
Scott also said that while he was governor of Florida, he allocated dollars to cyber and elections security, as well to county supervisors of elections.
“Look, the Russians are here, they are going to try to get into our system, “stated Scott.
Scott has been one of the most vocal senators in calling out the “serious national security threat’ posed to the U.S. by Russia in the Western Hemisphere, in particular, their support of Maduro’s regime in Venezuela
"He’s also focused on solving the crisis in Venezuela. The presence of Russia, China, Cuba, Iran, and Hezbollah poses a serious national security threat to the United States and our allies in the Hemisphere. We stand with the people of Venezuela fighting for freedom and we will continue to defend the security interests of our country.”-Sen. Rick Scott
