Border Patrol says woman and child attacked by bees by Telemundo

A Border Patrol agent in Texas saved a Guatemalan migrant woman and her son when they were attacked by thousands of bees.

The Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a statement that the agent patrolled the Rio Grande on Tuesday afternoon at the height of Brownsville, on the southern border of Texas, when several bees entered his vehicle.

After shaking the bees, the agent went to look for the origin of the honeycomb when he found what he thought was a pile of clothes covered by insects.

"After a more detailed investigation, the agent realized that the package was a person huddled in a fetal position," the statement said. It was a woman wrapped like a ball protecting an eight-year-old child.

He instructed them to run to their vehicle to protect themselves.

The boy started vomiting and the agent quickly took them both to a hospital. The agency indicates that they were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, but it is expected that both will recover.

CBP added that both will be "processed" under immigration laws once they are discharged.

Last August it was also reported that a family was attacked by bees in the area of the Rio Grande Valley...
