Marco Rubio threatens Trump with "veto proof" bill

Shortly after President Donald Trump announced that he would be allowing American companies to sell to Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei - lifting restrictions he had early placed on the company - Senator Marco Rubio (R) responded to the president’s decision by threatening to file legislation to “put back” the trade restrictions

At the direction of the Chinese government, Huawei is widely suspected of spying on the U.S. and its allies.

There has been bipartisan concern and support in the U.S. Congress to restrict Huawei access to U.S. technology, but those concerns seem to have fallen on deaf ears in the White House.

Rubio also stated that the legislation that will be  filed would have a “large veto proof majority,” or support of two-thirds of the siting U.S. Senators

“If President Trump has in fact bargained away the recent restrictions on #Huawei, then we will have to get those restrictions put back in place through legislation,” noted Rubio “ And it will pass with a large veto proof majority.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) also expressed his concern over the recent lifting of restrictions against Huawei.
