When Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) stated that the only option left in dealing with Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro was a military one, Congressional Democrats and media outlets took pause, questioning Scott’s advocacy for US military intervention.
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, Scott was asked about the “stark statement.”
Scott backed his assertion that US military action was needed to stop the “genocide” that Maduro is committing.
“Maduro is intentionally starving his citizens, they don’t have food, they don’t have water, they don’t have medicine,” said Scott, adding that “85% of kids under 7” are malnourished.
This is genocide and Maduro is doing it.
