Rubio files bill to keep Supreme Court at nine justices

As congressional Democrats continue to push for a drastic change to the make- up of the U.S. Supreme Court. Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has made good on his promise to file legislation to protect the nation’s highest court.

Rubio, along with several other Senate Republicans, filed the legislation to keep number of justices on the court at nine.

Senatorial Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Bernie Sanders, all 2020 presidential candidates, have made the effort to add justices to the Supreme Court part of their respective campaigns.

Rubio contends that Democrats have reverted to ‘moving the goal posts’ because they cannot effect their change at the ballot box on election day.

"The Democrats' court packing proposal represents the latest shortsighted effort to undermine America's confidence in our institutions and our democracy. America’s institutions are far from perfect. But over the past two centuries, they have provided a framework for our nation to become the most dynamic, most vibrant, and most exceptional nation in all of human history…"

President Trump has already stated that he would not entertain any notion of making a change to the SCOTUS.
