The hits just keep coming for Florida Gov Ron DeSantis, as the newly-minted governor is now committing to develop or create a prescription drug program in the state that affords Floridians the opportunity to buy cheaper, FDA-approved prescription drugs from Canada.
Cheaper drugs from Canada, eh?
That’s the plan.
“One of the biggest drivers of this country’s out of control healthcare spending is the cost of prescription drugs,” said Governor DeSantis. “While our prices remain high, our neighbors in Canada are spending significantly less for the same drugs. These price disparities are indefensible and inexcusable and I am ready to act.”
According to DeSantis’ press shop, which cites the 2003 Medicare Modernization Act as being the catalyst for the governor’s prescription drug play, DeSantis will look to work with the Trump Administration and the Florida Legislature “to create” a program that will offer cheaper drugs
