Washington, D.C.- With all the talk about more potential governments shutdowns in Washington, D.C., would Americans be best served if the U.S. Congress completing the budgetary and appropriations process every two years?

Florida Congressman Neal Dunn (R) told the Floridian that he was going to introduce legislation to change the budgetary process to “every two years,” adding that the budget should be done “in the off year, not in an election year.”

“It removes some of the acrimony and allows us to move forward, we can do budgeting and appropriations in two year cycles.”-U.S. Rep.Neal Dunn (R)

Dunn, who said the he “didn’t have the final wording” on the bill, admitted that his idea was not a new one, saying that he got the idea from former Democratic Rep. Leon Panetta, who filed a similar bill in 1977.

Yes, this is the same Leon Panetta who ran the CIA during the Obama years.
