It’s not clear yet if the government shutdown is hurting President Trump even as Democratic leaders continue to push back against the president’s border security initiative.

Outside of the border security-fueled government shutdown, Trump’s overall economic and foreign policy agenda appears to be working.

Americans for the most party seem to be  supportive of what he is doing, but in looking at the latest public opinion polling, that may not be the case.

Trump’s approval ratings are down. Way down.

The Real Clear Politics average of polls this week has Trump’s approval ratings down by as many as 23 percentage points.

The average of polls also shows how Trump matches up with several of the already declared or potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.

Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Fmr. Congressman Roberto ‘Beto’ O’Rourke, are considered the early favorites to win the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
