Scott says “race is over” after Nelson calls for recount

In a statement, Senator Bill Nelson said his campaign is formally calling for a recount after having lost by less than 0.5% (34,537 ) of the vote in Florida.

An automatic recount was already triggered when Nelson lost by less than 0.5%.

Countering Nelson’s recount remark, Scott stated that Nelson was only trying to hold on to a lost cause, adding that the “race was over.”
