Washington-With Florida’s disastrous and embarrassing recount underway, orientation week for newly minted members of congress was all the talk throughout the Capitol.

Speaking of the recount, Florida’s Senator-elect Rick Scott (R) was playing the part and made the rounds on Capitol Hill.

During a Democratic Party freshman orientation even in the Capitol, Rep. Charlie Crist told the Floridian that as far as the recount was concerned, he just wanted “the process to work well” and “work effectively.”

Crist echoed what his colleague Rep. Ted Deutch has been saying about the claims of “rampant fraud” occurring this election cycle. Crist stated that voter fraud was “not happening” even though Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that law enforcement has opened a statewide criminal investigation.

We asked Rep. Crist about whether he would support House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Speaker of the House candidacy.

Crist said the new class of Democrats were “impressive people,” but he was backing Pelosi, saying that the Leader was “talented, hardworking, and remarkable.”
