Her controversial and alleged ethically-challenged 15-years of serving as Broward Supervisor of Elections is over. Brenda Snipes has resigned.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Supervisor of Elections Attorney Burnedette Norris-Weeks confirmed that Snipes sent her letter of resignation “to Tallahassee.”

Snipes resignation was not immediate, rather it will take effect sometime within the first week of January 2019.

After being sued, being found guilty of destroying ballots, running a questionable and flawed ballot counting process, Snipes became the punching bag for many Republicans like President Donald Trump, Senator-elect Rick Scott, Rep. Matt Gaetz, Ron DeSantis, and some Democrats.

One former Broward County Democratic Party official told The Floridian that it was “embarrassing” how Snipes’ office handled the 2018 election cycle, and hoped that it would all end soon.
