Senator Bill Nelson Fundraising off of Slight Lead in Polls

Senator Bill Nelson has been trailing in the polls since his reelection Senate Race against Governor Rick Scott kicked off.

In recent weeks, Governor Rick Scott was up in the polls, he was polling high among South Floridian Cuban-Americans, and Scott was even polling high among Puerto Ricans who said that the sunshine state Governor was better-liked and better-known.

However, polls are now showing Senator Nelson with a slight lead, and he’s riding high off of campaigning alongside former Vice President Joe Biden and Tallahasse Mayor Andrew Gillum.

Since gaining the slight lead, Senator Nelson is now launching fundraising efforts by highlighting the lead and the need to continue his work in the Senate.

In an email sent to supporters, Nelson’s campaign argues that “losing Florida would cost Democrats the Senate – so we can’t take our foot off the gas.”

The email also adds that “your support has gotten us this far, but we’re in the final stretch and can’t let up now. More than 1 million Floridians have already cast their ballots, and Rick Scott just spent another $18 million to try to retake the lead.”

The campaign notes that “we just UPPED our fundraising goal to $200,000 by midnight to make sure we can fund everything we need to win, but we’ll fall short without your donation.”

With two weeks away from election day, Democrats are on the offensive, trying to ensure the “blue wave” that they’ve been working hard to achieve.

The race between Senator Nelson and Governor Scott is an important race along with the gubernatorial race because President Donald Trump carried the sunshine state in the 2016 Presidential election.

Nelson entered the advertising circuit late, and he was slammed by Governor Scott as being a career politician and having a negative effect on the economy, but things seem to be looking up for his reelection campaign.
