Senate Democrats and Sen. Jeff Flake (R) won the small battle of pressing the Senate Judiciary Committee in asking for an FBI investigation into Dr.Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegations. Blasey has accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of forcing himself onto her during a high school party.
Senate Republicans refused to call for an FBI inquiry, but President Trump intervened and directed the top law enforcement agency in the country to do so. Senate Democrats
According to President Trump, NBC News has reported that he was "limiting the FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh, and witnesses, only to certain people."
Trump asserted that he wants the FBI to talk to whomever they feel can add to the conversation, and deemed "appropriate."
