It's been a busy weekend for Senator Bill Nelson as he discussed health care in Volusia County, met with health care leaders and physicians in Deltona to discuss the importance of keeping protections for people with pre-existing conditions and improving access to affordable healthcare, visited and took a tour of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and canvassed with supporters in Daytona Beach. After that, he also took the stage to give the keynote speech at the Volusia County Democrats' gala that was honoring Bethune.
In a statement released by the Nelson campaign concerning his campaign stop in Volusia County, it detailed that "There are very few issues that affect people more than health care and right now, in Florida and across the country, health care for millions of Floridians is under attack."
In addition, it went on to jab the sunshine state Governor and President by saying that "Rick Scott and his pal Donald Trump are doing everything they can to undermine our health care system. Patients and physicians today highlighted the need to ensure people have access to affordable health care, which means expanding health care to nearly one million Floridians and keep the protections for the nearly 8 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions.”
