The race to become Florida's next Governor has gotten heated as both parties have their candidates trying to prove what sets them apart from the next person. This week, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the largest business group, in Orlando announced that they had chosen to endorse Florida's Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam over Senator Ron DeSantis in his effort to replace outgoing sunshine state Governor Rick Scott who is term-limited.

In a statement, Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, explained that "Adam Putnam is the leader Florida needs to keep Florida's momentum going. Adam Putnam knows Florida best, and I know without a doubt he believes in free enterprise and economic opportunity for every single Floridian."

In response to the endorsement, Putnam thanked the Chamber by detailing that "I am proud to have the support of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has a long and proven history of supporting businesses across the state, and I look forward to working alongside the Chamber to ensure Florida continues to build on its legacy as the most business-friendly state in the nation."

DeSantis has been running an outsider campaign, and it doesn't hurt that President Donald Trump endorsed him from Governor. President Trump also ran an outsider campaign that propelled him to win the 2016 Presidential election.
