Senator Marco Rubio was part of the recent western hemisphere round table discussion with U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, where he outlined the president’s recent “decisive actions” against the Cuban regime and the Maduro Government in Venezuela.

Rubio’s brief update on the political climate in the hemisphere was very concerning to say the least, as the south Florida native expressed concern over the “fraudulent” elections that have plagued Venezuela, and warned that more of these anti-Democratic elections were sure to continue to take place in both Venezuela and Cuba.

Rubio said that “often times” the elections in question “aren’t real” because many of the authoritarian government candidates or elected officials are challenged by individuals who are subsequently jailed.
