The death toll now stands at 20, and could climb as citizens in Iran continue their 6-day-long protest against what they feel is a “corrupt” central government manipulated by the supreme leader of that country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
This is the largest brush up between Iranians and the government since the 2009 elections that cast a dark cloud over the country’s entire electoral process.
Now the Ayatollah is lashing out at the U.S. and other “foreign” governments and interests, calling them “enemies” for their indirect involvement and support for the ongoing clashes with his Revolutionary Guard.
"The people are finally getting wise as to how their money and wealth is being stolen and squandered on terrorism."-President Donald Trump
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu put out a video of full support for the protestors, and President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, along with other prominent lawmakers, have also given the cause its full support.
With the Mullahs in Iran vowing the destruction of Israel, it was expected that Netanyahu make this kind of statement of support for the protests
Of the hundreds of protestors arrested, many could face a death sentence for their actions, including the death of at least once government police officer or soldier.
