After failing dozens of times to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in federal judge in Texas has ruled that the controversial healthcare law unconstitutional.

Democrats, as you can imagine, have been crying political foul, saying that Republicans were behind the Republican-appointed judge’s decision.

States like California have already vowed to appeal the Judge O’Connor’s decision, paving the way for another probable Supreme Court final ruling.

This judge sided w/ Republican Governors & the Trump Admin. who want to steal healthcare from millions of Americans, deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, & drag our country back to a time when healthcare was a privilege & not a right,” said Florida Congressman Ted Deutch (D) on Twitter.

Incoming Speaker of the House, Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, called the ruling “absurd” that “exposes the monstrous endgame of the GOP’s all-out assault on people w/ pre-existing conditions & the ACA.” Pelosi also vowed to “intervene in the appeal process” once she retakes control of the gavel.”

As expected, President Trump welcomed the ruling.

Trump stated that he “predicted all along” that the Obamacare law would be found “UNCONSTITUTIONAL,” adding that the new congress need to come together to pass “a STRONG law” the offers “GREAT” healthcare coverage and “protects pre-existing conditions.

Democrats, who won back the house in 2018 by running on healthcare, have been arguing that the Trump Administration wanted to gut the pre-existing component of the healthcare law.

As Republicans appear to be quiet on the ruling, could Pelosi and Democrats force congressional Republicans to reaffirm the law when they take control of the House next year?
