President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly in its 81st Session, discussing matters including the conflict in Iran, Cuba, artificial intelligence (AI), recent developments in Greenland, and the current state of the U.S. ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
In his opening remarks, President Trump touted his second administration’s accomplishments, affirming, “I can report to you with pride that America is back and our country is stronger today than ever before.”
“So, while others have talked, I have acted. While others have spoken of peace, I have made peace. While others have ignored threats, I have confronted them. While others have talked about courage, America has shown it. While others have promised strength, I have used it to make America the most powerful country in the world,” President Trump said.
The U.S. Has Stopped The Bully of The Middle East
President Trump argued that “Operation Epic Fury” and the ongoing conflict in Iran have broken the nation’s power in the Middle East.
“They were the bully of the Middle East, but they are the bully no more,” the president said, listing the U.S.’s success in destabilizing the Islamic Republic’s economic and military strength.
The Cuban Communist Regime "Will Fall"
Regarding Cuba, President Trump asserted that his administration will see to it that the communist regime dissolves.
“My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under great pressure – the biggest pressure they’ve ever been under; it’s an absolutely failed state,” President Trump said.
U.S. Will Control Greenland's Security
President Trump also confirmed that the U.S. will “immediately begin the process of developing a large military presence” in Greenland, including “two very major military bases.”
The president’s confirmation comes after the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland reached an agreement that reportedly gives the U.S. “permanent control” over the territory’s security.
No Slowdown on AI Advancement
On AI regulation, President Trump doubled down on his views, affirming that the U.S. “totally rejects” any moratorium or slowdown on AI advancement.
“I’m not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the industrial revolution,” President Trump said
