“I will never stop raising my voice against this nefarious ideology, responsible for more than a hundred million deaths, which only leaves misery, hunger, and exile wherever it comes to power."

The U.S. House of Representatives recently adopted a resolution to denounce socialism “in all its forms,” including the Democratic Socialist of America (DSA).

Eight House Democrats crossed party lines to join Republicans in favor of the resolution’s approval, resulting in a vote of 220-192.

Reps. Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and Darren Soto (D-Fla.) were among the 8 Democratic representatives who voted in favor of the resolution.

Resolution Also Included SAVE America Act Endorsement

The resolution, H.Res.1490, however, did not solely include the condemnation and denouncement of the ideology.

According to the document, the resolution also included a provision expressing support for the SAVE America Act, the election integrity measure that President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans have long sought to enact.

Some moderate Democratic Representatives, including Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), sought to amend the resolution to remove the voter ID endorsement provision.

The amendment, however, was not approved to receive a vote on the House floor.

Cuban American Congressmembers React To Resolution's Vote

Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) and Carlos A. Gimenez (R-Fla.) – both Cuban American Congressmembers – pushed back against the resolution’s failure to receive unanimity.

“Last year, 98 Democrats voted against my resolution condemning the horrors of socialism. Yesterday it was 192,” Rep. Salazar shared on X.

“More than 90% of Democrats in the House. Socialists are no longer a minority within the Democratic Party. They have taken over its agenda,” she added. “I will never stop raising my voice against this nefarious ideology, responsible for more than a hundred million deaths, which only leaves misery, hunger, and exile wherever it comes to power.”

“Only 8 Democrats in Congress voted to denounce the DSA communists, whose own stated platform includes ABOLISHING THE POLICE, RELEASING CRIMINALS ONTO THE STREETS, ABOLISHING THE SENATE, & ABOLISHING THE PRESIDENCY,” Congressman Gimenez expressed on X.
