Friends of Paul Renner, a political committee supporting Renner's campaign, released a statewide ad highlighting the gubernatorial candidate's public service and conservative leadership through a campaign release this week.
The over one-minute ad, titled "Vision," details Renner's time as a prosecutor and Navy veteran in an interview style format. Renner was an assistant state attorney and served in the U.S. Navy during Operation Desert Storm and in the war in Afghanistan.
The ad also highlights Renner's tenure as Florida house speaker, noting he championed school choice and billions in tax cuts.
Renner is then asked why he's running for the gubernatorial nomination.
"Because we defeated the radical left… we built the Free State of Florida… and we can never retreat," Renner answered. "Being Governor is not some game or political stepping-stone! I will eliminate property taxes, stop child trafficking, and prosecute the public corruption that steals your money. I will keep Florida the leader of the nation. I will never back down from defending faith, family, and freedom. So help me God.”
The ad will be streamed beginning Wednesday, with a 30-second version hitting state airwaves this weekend.
“This ad is about results over rhetoric, and leadership over lip-service,” Friends of Paul Renner Brett Doster said. “While other candidates are campaigning like schoolyard brats, Paul Renner offers substance, vision, and a reason for running that goes beyond personal ambition.  You want the adult in the room; you want Paul Renner.”
"Vision" follows another ad from Renner discussing the state's affordability crisis on families and small businesses released this week.
Renner is in a Republican primary with U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, and businessman James Fishback. Both ads come less than three weeks until the primary with Renner looking to gain ground on the field.
The primary is Aug. 18.
