The Florida American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the Florida Service Employees International Union (SEIU) have announced their endorsement for veteran Congresswoman Lois Frankel (D-Fla.).

AFL-CIO: Congresswoman Frankel "Always Shows Up!"

Patricia Emmert, the President of the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast AFL-CIO, commented, “The AFL-CIO has endorsed Lois Frankel for years no matter which office she has run for. Lois has always had our workers’ backs. She does not disappear between elections. Our union delegates endorsed her twice this year, when she changed districts.  She always shows up!”

SEIU-FLPU: "We Can Always Count On Rep. Frankel"

“SEIU Florida is proud to endorse Representative Frankel for re-election this year. Whether in the State Legislature or in the halls of Congress, she has always been a strong ally to union labor. We appreciate that we can always count on Rep. Frankel to stand up for workers’ rights and look forward to helping her once again be our representative in Washington,” SEIU-Florida Public Services Union (FLPU) President Afifa Khaliq stated.

The list of prominent organizations backing the long-time Florida representative keeps on piling up.

Prior to the latest endorsements, several prominent human rights groups also endorsed Congresswoman Frankel in her bid for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District (FL CD 23).

Congresswoman Frankel Expresses Gratitude

“I always stand with working people, and I am incredibly grateful that unions are standing with me today. Thank you to the Florida AFL-CIO, its affiliated member unions, and Florida SEIU for putting your faith in me and endorsing my campaign for re-election,” Rep. Frankel affirmed. “Our country, and our middle class, were built by unions, and I will always fight to protect workers’ right to organize, collectively bargain, and be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

Florida’s Primary Election is roughly three weeks away. With the list of organizations supporting Rep. Frankel’s bid for the seat, it appears that her chances to secure the seat in the Democratic stronghold are very high.
