Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful responsibilities a person can take on, but it often feels like it brings too many challenges. Thankfully, preventive care, such as vaccines, plays a crucial role in easing that burden.
When vaccines and other preventive services are easy to access, caregivers can plan ahead and avoid emergency situations that disrupt entire households. A simple vaccine can prevent hospitalizations that overwhelm families emotionally and financially, and it can also protect those who may not have a strong immune system of their own.
Our state’s large senior population means that preventive care must be accessible and close to home. Clinics, pharmacies, and mobile health services are all lifelines for families who don’t have the flexibility to travel long distances or wait weeks for appointments.
The states efforts to support preventive care programs make a real difference, and I hope they will keep up the great work on behalf of all Floridians.
Sincerely,
Luisa Garcia
