Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) suggested that policies signed into law via President Joe Biden's autopen should be invalidated as more evidence of his poor health emerges in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Varney & Co. He said, "If Joe Biden could not execute the duties of his office, then why are we living under a lot of the decisions that were made by the Biden White House?"
Host Stuart Varney noted that Axios journalist Alex Thompson spoke with MSNBC about the inner circle, including First Lady Jill Biden and several other staffers, who hid Biden's deteriorating health from the public throughout his presidency and acted on his behalf.
Similarly, Varney pointed to the Washington Post's Sally Quinn, who recently accused Jill Biden of "elder abuse" for pushing Joe to seek reelection in 2024, asking Rep. Donalds if he agreed with Quinn's accusation.
"It is elder abuse, there is no doubt about that," Rep. Donalds answered, adding, "And all of these officials that were in the Biden White House, as far as I am concerned, they need to come in front of the Oversight Committee, because questions need to be answered."
Moreover, the Florida Congressman suggested that anything signed into law by President Biden with a supposed autopen should be considered legally null, as "You cannot use an autopen to run the country; it has to be from the mental and physical capabilities of the person elected to be commander-in-chief."
"And so if Joe Biden could not execute the duties of his office, then why are we living under a lot of the decisions that were made by the Biden White House?" Donalds concluded. "So, there are a lot of investigations that need to occur on this matter. This is a major scandal, in my view, the biggest one in presidential history. We can now put Watergate to bed because the autopen is now in front of us."
In July, Donalds had previously accused news sources of "gaslighting" Americans about Biden's health, saying, "These same Democrats two weeks ago were saying that Joe Biden was 'one of the great presidents ever, look at what he's done,' even though they knew full well that his capabilities have been diminished over the last several years."
