US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is increasing pressure against consulting firms doing business in China while simultaneously working in the US.

Senator Rubio previously called for a federal investigation into American multinational management consulting firm McKinsey & Company for allegations the firm was cooperating with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Projects McKinsey was involved in allegedly include the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, the renewal and renovation of the U.S. Navy’s principal port facilities, and the U.S. Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Command.

Meanwhile, McKinsey assisted the CCP in various projects and has over 1,000 employees servicing Chinese government institutions and companies.

Now, Rubio is warning another consulting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), against working with the CCP.

According to Rubio’s office, PwC has provided services for CCP officials in the infamous  Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region as well as appointed a rumored CCP member to lead its China operations while openly supporting China’s Belt and Road initiative.

Rubio believes China is executing a concerted effort to erode the US’ global leadership.

“As my office has documented, for more than ten years, the CCP has acted on a concerted plan to supplant the United States as the ascendant global economic power, dominating global trade in the industries that will define the 21st century economy,” asserts Rubio.

Consequently, Rubio sent a letter to PwC Global Chairman Mohamed Khande expressing concern over the company’s ties to the CCP and demanding answers on the threat those ties pose to U.S. interests.

Rubio explains PwC’s alleged collaboration with the CCP furthers China’s mission to substitute the US as the world’s hegemonic power.

“Global firms, such as PwC, who have grown prosperous from a free and democratic order governed by American values, can no longer seek to cater to, and profit from, both sides of this conflict,” concludes Rubio.

Rubio has emerged as a leading China hawk, repeatedly criticizing the CCP over unfair trade practices, Human Rights abuses, and national security threats.
