US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has requested President Joe Biden’s administration investigate Unity of Fields, a pro-Hamas group operating in the US, for domestic terrorism.
Unity of Fields is a protest organization mobilizing Hamas and Palestinian sympathizers across the US in occupations of University buildings, violent protests, and vandalism.
The organization is explicitly anti-Zionist and anti-American, professing their ultimate purpose is to “open a new front against the US Empire.”
Senator Rubio claims Unity of Fields’ promotion of operations including defacing campus property, violently occupying University dining halls, and destroying University property to garner attention for the Palestinian cause is grounds for a domestic terror investigation into the group.
“By rejecting nonviolent means and fully embracing revolutionary and insurgent related tactics as a means of pursuing its hateful beliefs, Unity of Fields runs counter to any of the beliefs and rights which underpin our country’s constitutional system, and endangers citizens,” said Rubio.
Unity of Fields continues stirring controversy by diffusing pro-Hamas messaging depicting its terrorist members as resisting Western imperialism.
For instance, Unity of Fields refers to Hamas’ brutal October 7th attacks on Israel, where thousands of civilians were killed, mutilated, and raped, as a “Palestinian insurgency..(that) put the question of revolutionary anti-imperialist struggle back on the table.”
Similarly, Unity of Fields has described Hamas’ recently deceased leader Yahya Sinwar as a “great martyr and fighter.”
The IDF announced Sinwar’s death following an IDF strike on a number of Hamas terrorists.
President Biden expressed relief and commented Sinwar’s death was “good” for Israel and the US.
“As the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and citizens from over 30 countries,” said Biden. “He was the mastermind of the October 7th massacres, rapes, and kidnappings.”
Sinwar’s death is a significant step in Israel’s year-long war against Hamas, premised on ridding Gaza from the terrorist group.
“Israel has had every right to eliminate the leadership and military structure of Hamas. Hamas is no longer capable of carrying out another October 7,” continued Biden.
