Hollywood— The contentious Republican primary race in Florida's 25h congressional district between retired FBI agent Chris Eddy and small business owner Bryan Leib is over. Eddy prevailed, beating Lieb by garnering 65 percent of the vote.

Eddy, who campaigned on an impeccable pedigree, will now face Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) in the November general election.

Eddy's decision not to run as an “America First” candidate could help him with moderate Democratic voters, but could he lose he support of the rank-and-file MAGA base of the Republican Party?

Republicans have developed a great disdain for the FBI and other “Deep State” government agencies, and after the FBI raided Mar-A-Lago and threatened President Trump, Eddy doubled down on his support for the agency he worked at for years.

Trump himself has scoffed at the Deep State FBI, vowing to clean house if reelected president.

When asked by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel if he believed there was a “Deep State” within the FBI. Eddy stated, “No.”

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) recently laughed about  Eddy’s campaigning on being a former “FBI Leader.”

“Don’t Republicans hate the FBI,” said a laughing Rep. Wasserman Schultz.

The name of the game in politics is campaign cash, so will Eddy be able to raise enough money to compete with Rep. Wasserman Schultz?

Wasserman Schultz has $1.2 million cash on hand while Eddy has about $62,000.

But while Wasserman Schultz holds a massive cash advantage over Eddy, her support for the Biden economic and immigration reform agendas will be problematic for her as most Americans believe that illegal immigration and the ailing U.S. economy are the two issues that they are gravely concerned with.
