Both Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and President Trump recently campaigned in Georgia, attempting to draw a distinction between each other. As President Trump enjoys a 3.1% lead over Vice President Harris based on 11 state and national public opinion polls, the incumbent vice president is gaining support in the state. Former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan (R) has announced that he is endorsing Vice President Harris for President.
In a statement, released in response to President Trump's "especially incoherent" rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Lt. Governor Duncan makes it clear that he is no fan of the president.
Slamming the president for only showing "incoherence and vindictiveness," the former Lt. Governor expressed that attendees only saw "a Donald Trump who does not care about uniting this country or speaking to the voters who will decide this election." Lt. Governor Duncan went on to accuse President Trump of running a narcissistic campaign, citing that attendees "heard a particularly unhinged, angry version of the same Donald Trump that Georgia rejected in 2020."
As such, Lt. Governor Duncan has come to the conclusion that he has to endorse Vice President Harris, calling her a candidates that "fights for all Americans, right, left, or center" and adding that Vice President Harris "will stand up for the Constitution."
President Trump has been critical of Georgia, warning of election fraud in the 2020 election.
This time around, the president has called out the state's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), urging him "to do his job, and make sure this Election is not stolen."
In a recent social media post, President Trump went on to criticize Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R), accusing him of overseeing a floundering economy in the state as well as accusing him of allowing the crime rate in the state to go up.
Responding to the president's call for him "to do his job," Secretary Raffensperger has responded, assuring that "Georgia's election's are secure" and that "the winner here in November will reflect the will of the people."
