Matt Gaetz Says 'FBI Has Sown More Evil Than They Have Rooted Out'

After the Congressional hearing for FBI whistleblowers Garrett O'Boyle, Steve Friend, and Marcus Allen, Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) discussed on Fox News, boldly claiming, "The FBI has sown more evil than they have rooted out."

"The FBI has sown more evil than they have rooted out. They’re targeting everyone from President Trump to their own agents who have blown the whistle on the weaponization of the FBI. Congress must cut off their federal funding and make significant organizational changes," Rep. Gaetz tweeted.

And what sort of "significant organizational changes" did Rep. Gaetz suggest?

"We have to defang and defund the authorities that have been weaponized against the people. We have to get the FBI out of Washington D.C.," said Gaetz.

Additionally, Gaetz pointed to the three whistleblowers at the hearing as examples of how "there is pressure that comes out headquarters and out of the Washington Field Office to do things that are against the law in the Constitution."

And if agents do not comply, said Gaetz, they are made examples of, evidenced by O'Boyle's claim his children were denied winter jackets and Friend claiming his paycheck was suspended.

Why? Because "it's easier to do that than to face the consequences of the corruption they have allowed to seep into an agency that seems to have sown more evil than they have rooted out," Gaetz continued.

Thus in addition to cutting off funding, Gaetz referred to Representative Dan Bishop's (R-NC) suggestion the FBI be decentralized, with agents under jurisdiction of Federal judicial district attorneys.

Gaetz cited the Boston whistleblowers' claims of FBI presence during the January 6th riot.

"We have a circumstance, like in Boston where the Boston agents were saying, "We're not going to go and round people up just because they happen to be in Washington D.C. on January 6th. And for that, they face consequences and that's deeply unfair," Gaetz concluded.

In March, Gaetz had previously called the FBI "rotten to the core."
