Miami-Shortly after holding a press conference at the University of Miami to announce his appointment of two judges to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Gov. Ron DeSantis fielded questions from reporters, where he addressed the recent suicides associated with the 2018 Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school shooting, as well as several other pressing issues.
We caught up to DeSantis to ask him to give an update on his office’s stance on ‘Sanctuary Cities.”
DeSantis responded by mentioning of an existing “bill in the legislature” that he says, “we are going to pass,” affirming that he will “absolutely” sign the bill into Florida law.
There is a bill in the legislature that we are going to pass. I’ll sign it. Absolutely.
Just over a month ago, DeSantis asked the Republican-led Florida legislature to pen a bill that would ban "Sanctuary Cities," which he could then sign into law.
What is that old Biblical saying? Ask and you shall receive?
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”- Matthew 7:7
DeSantis got what he asked for.
