Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) took to the Senate floor and tore into the Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed Green New Deal plan like it was nobody’s business.

Scott called Ocasio-Cortez “a Socialist from New York City” before slamming her plan as being nothing more than a “naïve” and economy-killing proposal that “in reality is the Green Job Killer.”

"The Green New Deal would destroy our economy."-Sen. Rick Scott

Scott also asserted that measure “would destroy” the American economy, and pointed out that “every single major Democrat” running in the 2020 presidential primary “embraced” Ocasio-Cortez’s plan.

“You can’t afford to take care of the environment if you don’t have a strong economy. The Green New Deal would destroy our economy. To embrace this Green New Deal plan is to be an enemy of the American economy, and the American worker,” said Scott.

The freshman senator from the Sunshine State did not relent, saying that because “climate change is real,” the problem “requires real solutions” and not some “economy-destroying New Deal” that is nothing more than “a declaration of war on the economy.”

Democrat Party has embrace this “economy-destroying New Deal” as a new commandment.

This plan is a declaration of war on the economy, our way of life, and the standard of living for the working-class families across our great country."-Sen. Rick Scott

Scott’s colleague in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R) caused a rise out of Ocasio-Cortez when he stated that her plan was “destructive” and a “national security threat” to America.
