Clashes between U.S. Border Patrol and the migrant caravan were expected to happen once the 5,000 or so arrived at the U.S. southern border. And so it happened, Upon arriving at the border, Hundreds of central American and Mexican immigrants rushed the U.S. port of entry in San Ysidro, CA.
The would-be illegal immigrants, some of whom hurled rocks at border patrol officers, were repelled by tear gas. This is the “invasion” Republican President Trump said would happen.
But while Trump and other immigration hawks see this migration as an “invasion,” Democrats like newly-elected Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez disagrees, and has even gone as far as to equate this immigration to the jews fleeing Germany.
“Asking to be considered a refugee & applying for status isn’t a crime. It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany. It wasn’t for targeted families fleeing Rwanda. It wasn’t for communities fleeing war-torn Syria. And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted late Sunday.

Trump has already position thousands of active U.S. Army soldiers along the border to assist border patrol agents.
