Florida Governor Rick Scott, who continues to feverishly campaign around the state in his bid to unseat Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, is once again appealing to the Venezuelan community for help.

Like Senator Marco Rubio (R), Scott has been one of the leading voices of opposition to the Maduro regime in Venezuela.

During a visit to URBE University, a Venezuela-based higher education school in Doral, Florida, Scott reiterated his support for the Venezuelan people and their ongoing struggles with Dictator Nicholas Maduro.

“It’s Very important that we continue to fight for Venezuela. Your heart goes out to them-there are children born without the right medicine, food, people are dying. Maduro and his thugs are killing peaceful protestors. It’s important to me.”-Gov. Rick Scott

When asked if he defeated Nelson what could he do for the Venezuelan community, Scott quickly interrupted the question and responded “when” he defeats Nelson.

“I made sure Florida fought Maduro,” said Scott.

Scott, who pledged to get other countries to take on Maduro, added that as a U.S. Senator, he would have the ability to work alongside the Trump Administration to “make sure” sanctions are increase, as well as pressure other nations to follow the U.S. lead to isolate Maduro’s regime.
