The younger Biden, who has been the target of the Trump campaign and by congressional Republicans over his questionable foreign business dealings in Ukraine and China, released a statement about the investigation through the Biden-Harris Transition campaign.
"I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs. I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors," stated Biden.
The transition team also released a statement, saying that the president-elect was "deeply proud of his son" and praise him for weathering what they say were "personal attacks" recently made against him. Those attacks were framed around a bombshell story that many mainstream media outlets refused to report on, let alone acknowledge.
The Floridian first reported on the NY Post story about the compromising emails and illicit pictures found on Biden's laptop computer, emails that Republicans call the smoking gun that shows the Biden's sold the office of the Vice President. The former vice president denied ever discussing any of his son Hunter's business dealings, but the emails found imply that he did have contact, event met with one of the Burisma Holdings executives.
"The emails obtained sheds new light on Hunter’s business dealing with the Ukraine gas company, a central component of Trump’s impeachment probe due to a phone call the president conducted with Ukraine president where Congressional Democrats viewed as an abuse of power by attempting to strong-arm Ukraine for a political favor by investigating his then potential Democratic presidential rival."
