The Austin serial bomber that killed two over three weeks is dead after police closed in on him at a motel in the Round Rock area of the state. Police were able to pick up the bombers sent when he was caught on surveillance footage sending two packages at a Fed Ex drop-off location.
According to authorities, the unidentified 24-year-old suspect was traced by police using the video footage and by using cell phone triangulation technology, this according to the Austin American-Statesman.
The bomber appears to committed suicide when after a high speed chase with police, he detonated two explosives after running his car into a ditch.
Because Police fired on the vehicle, the exact cause of death has not been declared by authorities, even though the suspect was found dead with “significant injuries.”
