President Donald Trump has unveiled his "Great Healthcare Plan" agenda, seeking to lower healthcare costs for Americans and put more money back in their pockets.

A brief video posted by Americans for Open Government highlights the President's address, in which he argued that "the current Unaffordable Care Act was created to make insurance companies rich." The television spot is being aired in multiple Florida markets, including Orlando and Miami.

"It was bad healthcare at much too high a cost," Trump argues. "I am taking on the gigantic health insurance companies that have gotten rich on billions of dollars of money that should go directly to the people. They will not be happy, but that is okay with me, because you, the people, are finally going to be getting great healthcare at a lower cost."

The White House website provides more details, sharing that patients would receive government funds directly to tailor their own healthcare plan rather than buy from an insurer.

Another aspect highlighted in the program is the Cost-Sharing Reduction system under the Affordable Care Act (ACA or "Obamacare"), which includes premium and copay reductions for low-income enrollees who buy the Silver plan.

Trump claims the Cost-Sharing Reduction system is "long-neglected," and that its usage via the Silver plan is "a hated program, it's unaffordable."

The "Great Healthcare Plan" would require insurers to disclose rate and coverage comparisons as clearly as possible, and would require hospitals accepting Medicare or Medicaid to "prominently post all prices of their place of business" to maintain transparency.
