BUDAPEST— As economic tensions between the U.S. and the European Union (EU) persist as a result of President Donald Trump moving to levy a 50% tariff on the European Union, his senior advisor, Jason Miller, highlighted the threat to free speech the EU poses to the Western world and the need for overall trade and transparency at a EU-US Forum event at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Budapest, Hungary.

"I was extremely satisfied with the 50% Tariff allotment on the European Union, especially since they were slow walking (to put it mildly!), our negotiations with them," said President Trump in a post on Truth Social earlier in the week.

"We take for granted our First Amendment right... other countries have no embedded right to freedom of speech. Free speech is something that President Trump will be addressing in the EU and the UK."—Jason Miller

The event was set up as a fireside chat discussion with EU-US Board Members Matt Mowers and Joe Grogan narrating, where Miller was asked to enlighten attendees on the growing direct threat the EU and U.S. adversaries pose to European nations and America.

Miller came out swinging for the fences in describing the leadership at the EU, or the “Overlords in Brussel” as the “most aggressive, anti-Trump trading partners,” adding that the unelected EU bureaucrats were targeting free speech and were actively trying to gain a backdoor access of Apple’s iCloud servers.

The EU is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

"President Trump is going to be the torchbearer for sovereignty and for freedoms"— Jason Miller

Can you imagine if Apple allowed anyone to have access to its highly protective iCloud servers? Miller pointed out that hackers would pose an immediate threat to Apple clients.

“Actual conventional wisdom is that People do want safe streets, they want secure borders. They want to make sure they have industry in their own countries. They want to make sure that decisions are made regarding the economy and their livelihoods aren’t by some unnamed, unelected suits in Brussels,” said Miller, who believes the EU has shown “A  real lack of respect for sovereignty in those respective countries.”

Considering that he has closely worked with President Trump for about a decade, Miller spoke about the President’s concerns about the “growing threat of Islamism” as well as the threat the Communist China, or the CCP, poses to the U.S and it’s allies.

“The president knows we have a finite time window and it's not just because of his time office but it’s because we're running out of time is western civilization to get things right with the growing threat of Islamism, with the growing threat of this CCP and these dictatorial natures, we have to take advantage of this time right now and I think you realize the urgency of doing that I'm glad to see the reaction from the EU,” added Miller.

Shortly after the event ended, Miller spoke to The Floridian about President Trump believes that in order to combat the “Islamism” he spoke about, “strong leadership” and zero tolerance for terrorism” was key to defeating radical Islam.

“Islamic radical terrorism still remains a threat to this day. We have to be very vigilent that our borders are secure and we’re vetting migrants who are coming in,” said Miller.

Mr. Mowers praised Miller’s assertion that free speech around the world need to be protected at all costs, saying that “protecting free speech is the cornerstone” in order to ensure that  “other rights aren't being eroded.”

“I think Jason hit the nail on the head when he talked about the fact that we can't take for granted the opportunity for free speech, and I think as Americans we often assume that there's First Amendment protections across the world and there's not, and so you're seeing the repercussions of that when you've got you know government entities, whether it's in the UK or Germany  trying to classify what I think most people would say is their right to free expression and free speech, to try and classify as different types of hate speech when really it’s not,” asserted Mowers to The Floridian.
