Rep Byron Donalds joined Brian Mast (R-FL) and President Donald Trump on Monday to award the new Presidential Medal of Sacrifice, recently created to honor first responders who have fallen in the line of duty.
The first three recipients of this new medal were the families of Deputy Ralph "Butch" Waller, Corporal Luis Paez, and Deputy Ignacio "Dan" Diaz, three Palm Beach County law enforcement officers killed in a November car crash.
“It was an honor to join President Trump and Congressman Brian Mast to honor the lives of Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sheriff Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller Jr., and Cpl. Luis Paez Jr. I spoke with each of their family members and thanked them for the heroic service and sacrifice of their loved ones on behalf of the Sunshine State and the nation," said Rep. Donalds in a statement to The Floridian.
