House Passes Bill Changing 'Gulf of Mexico' to 'Gulf of America'

The Florida House of Representatives passed a bill 78-27 on Thursday that would amend State Statues to replace all mentions of “Gulf of Mexico” with “Gulf of America,” aligning Florida law with the federal government's designation begun by the Trump administration. READ MORE

House Passage of HB 649 Autonomous Practice by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

“We thank Representative Mike Giallombardo for his strong leadership and commitment to advancing HB 649, which passed today on the House Floor following its third reading. This critical legislation removes unnecessary restrictions on Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), allowing them to practice to the full extent of their education and training," said Laura Molina DNP, CRNA, President of the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthesiology. “HB 649 is a vital step toward expanding access to safe, high-quality anesthesia care— particularly in rural and underserved settings where patients often face barriers to timely treatment. By modernizing outdated laws, the bill supports Florida’s evolving health care needs and recognizes the essential role CRNAs play in improving patient outcomes while lowering costs.

Shevrin “Shev” Jones-I don’t care how you slice it; today’s efforts by the President are an absolute tax increase on the American people, and they will feel it in their pockets and pocketbooks.

Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith-We know that for every DOLLAR in taxpayer money we invest in Cultural & Musuem grants, we earn NINE DOLLARS back in economic activity in the state.

This year, I am much more confident the legislature will restore vetoed funding and invest even more dollars into the arts.

Jay Collins-We are incredibly blessed to have hero’s like Deputy May among us. May he rest in peace. Honor and remember him. Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Juan C. Porras-Today I had the honor of presenting HB 983, Homeowners Associations. The bill expands the jurisdiction of Florida’s Sheriffs and law enforcement to audit, inspect, and investigate HOAs for criminal conduct.

I will continue to strive for HOA reform to protect the people of Florida and appreciate all the support for this movement!

Greg Steube-Florida Democrats are such pathetic, delusional losers that they think spending $17 million to lose two congressional races by double digits is a “win.”
