Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), a University of Florida graduate, has chosen the Florida Gators (surprise, surprise) to win the NCAA men's basketball national championship, lovingly known as "March Madness." The Gators are the No. 4 overall seed in the tournament and the #1 seed out of the West bracket.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz provided some analysis and cold-hearted trash talk heading into the tournament.
If you didn’t know, I’m a HUGE @FloridaGators fan.
And this #MarchMadness, I’ve got @gatorsmbk cutting down nets in San Antonio. #GoGators pic.twitter.com/qVnuvYMcm1

"Hey everyone, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, here, for the "Big Dance," March Madness. Just want to make sure everyone knows I'm a huge Florida Gator fan. Go Gators, and we're going to win it all. And I don't want to see anyone worrying about football season, because the Gators run the whole damn calendar," Rep. Wasserman Schultz stated.
The Florida congresswoman then threw some jabs toward other notable teams in the 68-team bracket, naming #1 Duke of the East region and #5 Michigan of the South region.
"And you Michigan fans, you'll need to be focusing on the Big House (colloquial name of Michigan's football stadium), because you won't be making it past our house," said Wasserman Schultz. "And we've got orange and blue nightmares for the Blue Devils in the finals, too. Only Coach K (referring to Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Duke's retired legendary coach) won't be walking through that door to save you guys this time."
Moreover, Wasserman Schultz threw a jab at the back-to-back defending national champions, #8 UConn of the West region, saying their squad won't make it past the first round.
"And Huskies, don't book a hotel past this Thursday, you won't need it. While UConn's packing their bags, we'll be packing the championship confetti. Go Gators. We're going to win it all, you heard it here first," concluded Wasserman Schultz.
The Florida Gators had the second-best odds (+350) to win the Big Dance heading into Thursday, according to ESPN. They trail only the Duke Blue Devils (+280).
